Welcome to this weeks Science of Soul , Its back live after a couple of weeks break due to my stateside trip. Featured album this week comes from Club Nouveau member Jay King. His new album "Helen's Son" is a fitting tribute to his late mom I am sure she is looking down with pride. I got 3 tracks on this weeks show and more to follow. Highly recommended .Soul Junction just keep on uncovering some real gems this time it's Robert Montgomery its a double A side 7 inch single I have chosen "Time Of The Day" for this weeks playlist. 90s soul lovers will be pleased to see The Force MDs are back with a new single "Don't Rush" from there forthcoming album "Fly With Me" and Baltimore's very own soul super group Diversiti are back, Devon, Eriq & Damon have delivered a real polished performance on there new single "Rain Drops (crying for you)" .

A lot of old school greats as always on the Science of Soul and this weeks show closes out with 3 tracks from one of my heroes Curtis Mayfield as many of you will be aware I had the honour of collecting Curtis's award at this years R&B Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony held at Detroit's iconic Music Hall venue. . It was a great event that featured performances from Freda Payne, Carl Carlton, The Dramatics and a show stopping duet from Gerald Alston & Carla Cooke truly a night to remember. The R&B Hall of Fame goes from strength to strength thanks to all the hard work of CEO Lamont Robinson and was a high point of the Detroit Music Weekend that also included a live performance from Aretha Franklin. Thanks for bearing with me over the last couple of weeks it's nice to be back live.
