Stars On Broadway

Ble'z
It's Science of Soul time and thank you for stopping by. I am sure you know I have been featuring the new album from Lovebeams Productions over the last few months, well the main man behind Lovebeams is Mr Dwayne Palmer, D contacted me a couple of weeks back to say they now had hard copies of the album "Can We" and he had put one in the mail for me, the package arrived and when I opened it there was 2 cds "Can We" and an album from 2001 titled "Stars On Broadway" well I have to confess I didn't rush to open that one, I was expecting the usual Broadway show tunes ..... was I wrong it's packed with great tracks written by Dwayne and performed by top notch vocalists, to say I impressed is an understatement so this week instead of featuring a new release album I will be playing 3 tracks from this set. It is still available for down load from cdBaby and it's truly worth the investment. I hope you enjoy the tracks as much as I did.

I have new music this week from Atlanta based Todd B plus the current hits from Bigg Robb who's album "Born To Do This" is currently Number 1 on the Southern Soul Chart, and the new release from Ble'z, whos's a young lady out of Maryland. Also album tracking from Danny Keen, Leela James, Will Downing and there are a lot of old school jams cause I know just how popular they are in particular listen out for Timothy Wilson and O T Sykes. OK it's on with the music sit back and enjoy ..

The Intrigues

Thanks for stopping by this weeks Science of Soul, today on the show I will be featuring the latest Soul Junction label release from Philly legends The Intrigues, who were best remembered for there 60's classic "In A Moment." Their latest project is a collection of tracks that until now were laying in the vaults, but the Soul Junction guys have done it yet again, they remastered and packaged them into a new album called "If The Shoe Fits," I think these tracks will have a wide appeal for lovers of quality soul. It will be available in both vinyl and CD formats, these are definitely for the collectors, so don't miss out!

Stan Mosley is getting rave revues on his release of the Philly classic "Ain't No Stopping Us" remember we played it a couple of weeks back, but now I wanna remind you just how good it is, look out for a new album from Stan soon and  I will keep you updated. UK soul man Carvalho is back with a new track "Elevate" and is a quality release from the EP of the same name. I am expecting big things from this guy in the future.

SOS listener June

The Intrigues biography
The Intrigues were a slick trio that served up funky Philly soul during the early '70s. Their biggest hit in 1969 on the Yew label, "In a Moment," was slickly arranged and produced by Bobby Martin and Thom Bell, although its flip, "Scotchman Rock," was a rocking throwback to simpler times. The Intrigues' lush 1971 hit on Yew, "The Language of Love," was co-produced by Van McCoy. After an extended absence from the R&B charts, the trio re-emerged from the shadows in 1985 with "Fly Girl."

I have new and current releases from Southern soul lady, Le Le Storm, plus O'Bryan featuring Sue Ann Carwell with and a name you will remember from all those Freddie Jackson Classics, that's Paul Laurence.
